From the 3rd of June,the Flower Council of Holland has a new name: Plants & Flowers FoundationHolland.

In de aanloop naar Valentijnsdag werden er via de klok en directe handel in totaal 464 miljoen bloemen verhandeld. Daarvan waren er dit jaar 150 miljoen rozen. In 2025 was dit aantal 452 miljoen.

De NVWA heeft in 2022 onderzoek gedaan naargewasbescherming in de sierteelt en de resultatenonlangs gedeeld. Als reactie heeft RFH ditstatement gedeeld in samenspraak met de sector.

Drones spoort lozingen in glastuinbouwgebied op

Het Hoogheemraadschap van Schieland en de Krimpenerwaard zet sinds kort drones in om waterlozingen in het glastuinbouwgebied sneller en slimmer op te sporen. Dit is onderdeel van de aanpak om de waterkwaliteit te verbeteren.

Eco-friendly rose may cost a few euros

RFH heeft de campagne ‘Bloemenliefde’ gelanceerd in samenwerking met VBW en Plantion om te laten zien hoeveel passie en toewijding er achter elke bloem schuilgaat. Op Valentijnsdag stonden RFH medewerkers, de VBW en lid-kweker Dean Zuidgeest van Villa Gerbera op Amsterdam Centraal om bloemen uit te delen.

A total of 464 million flowers were traded via auctions and direct trade in the run-up to Valentine’s Day. In 2025, the number was 452 million. Of these, 150 million of these flowers were roses.

The “Flower Love” campaign was a success: many flowers were handed out to passersby

RFH launched the ‘Flower Love’ campaign in collaboration with VBW and Plantion to show how much passion and dedication is behind every flower. On Valentine’s Day, RFH staff, the VBW and member grower Dean Zuidgeest of Villa Gerbera were at Amsterdam Central Station to hand out flowers.

Petition against VAT increase for the floriculture sector has been signed more than 3,000 times

The announced increase in the VAT rate on flowers and plants from 9% to 21% is hitting the floriculture sector hard. In response, the GBW launched a petition that has now had more than 3000 signatures.
